The Great British Car Journey - a brand new Derbyshire classic car venue - is all set to open later this year.
The original plan was to open in 2020. Due to major health set backs with two of its founder members that date had to be postponed. But now, back to full health, thank goodness the Great British Car Journey is re-charged and ready to go.
Located beside within the Derwent Mills World Heritage Site, over 150 classic British cars will be exhibited at the new attraction.
The idea is the brainchild of Richard Usher. He explained: “Signing the lease puts us on track for opening in 2021. The enforced break, through ill health and the pandemic, means the Great British Car Journey is coming back stronger having given us the opportunity to acquire even more fantastic British classic cars.”
Great British Car Journey will take visitors on an interactive journey through the golden years of British manufacturing from the 1930s – 1990s using a unique audio-visual device.
A feature sure to have a massive hit is the Drive Dad’s Car event. This will give visitors the opportunity to go for a drive with an instructor in a selection of over 30 iconic British cars from the Austin Seven to a Rolls Royce Silver Spirit. That old car smell and analogue driving experience guarantees massive smiles all round. We cannot wait.
