Claims that JLR caused a successful Suffolk sports car manufacturer to collapse…
Claims that JLR caused a successful Suffolk sports car manufacturer to collapse are being made after Suffolk Sports Cars collapsed into administration at the end of last year. The Woodbridge based company had been successfully building replica 1950s SS100 Jaguars since the 1990s. However, Jaguar Land Rover Ltd threatened to take the well-established company to court alleging copyright infringement. The Liquidator, Johannes Rupping said: “There was an action regarding copyright infringement brought by Jaguar Land Rover. They were trying to fight it but they effectively just ran out of cash through a combination of that and Covid-19”. The local press reported “Jaguar Land Rover did not respond to requests for comment”. A sad ending to a successful niche company.
