MGB owners need to get in quick if they are thinking of buying an original ‘new’ bodyshell for their MGB…
As owners of the original tooling, British Motor Heritage (BMH) is the only company able to reproduce MGB bodies to exactly the same specification as those manufactured in period. (BMH) produces just two batches of replacement bodyshells per year, and orders for the first run of 2021 are set to expire at the end of this month March 31. As orders during lockdown have risen, BMH are urging potential customers to not hang around.
Shells are available for all versions of the Roadster and GT with prices starting from £11,548.95 which in our view is remarkable value. If you’re that way inclined, there is the option of seam-welded bodies for competition use.
Since formation, British Motor Heritage has built over 6,000 bodyshells for the MGB, MGR V8, MG Midget, Austin-Healey Sprite, Triumph TR6, original Mini and Mini Clubman. Alongside that have been literally tens of thousands of individual replacement panels. These have been the saviour of countless classic vehicles that would otherwise have been scrapped long ago. #KeepingTheDreamAlive.
